Data Boost

Privacy Policy

Last updated 13 September 2026. This describes what the app actually does, rather than reserving every right we might one day want.

Who we are

Data Boost is operated by Gatebreak Technologies Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 16566997), 86-90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described here, and you can reach us at service@databoost.app.

What we collect

Your account. Your email address, and your name and date of birth if you provide them. If you sign in with Apple or Google we receive an identifier from them and, where you allow it, your email and name. We never see your Apple or Google password. Date of birth is used only to check you are over 18.

Your orders. What you bought, when, how much you paid, and the eSIM issued to you: its ICCID, validity and status.

Payment details. Handled entirely by Stripe. We store a token that lets us charge a saved card and the last four digits so you can recognise it. We never hold your full card number.

Data usage. How much of your allowance you have used, as reported to us by our connectivity supplier. This is a volume figure. We do not see, log or store what you browse, who you contact, or where you are.

Your device. Make, model and operating system version, so support can help with installation problems. We cannot obtain your IMEI or any hardware identifier.

Approximate location. Only if you allow it, and only to guess which country's plans to show you first. It is requested at low accuracy, used immediately, and not stored. Declining changes nothing except that you choose your destination yourself.

Notifications. A push token if you enable notifications, and your phone number if you opt into SMS alerts about your data allowance.

What we do not collect

We do not hold communications content, browsing history, traffic logs, IP session records or location data from your eSIM's use of the network. We are a reseller and do not operate the underlying mobile network, so this information does not reach us. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell your data to anyone.

Why we are allowed to use it

To perform our contract with you: your account, orders, eSIM provisioning and support. To meet legal obligations: keeping financial records, and responding to lawful requests from authorities. And with your consent: location, push notifications, SMS alerts and marketing, each of which you can withdraw at any time without affecting the service.

Who else sees it

eSIM Access, our connectivity supplier, receives what is needed to issue and manage your eSIM. Stripe processes payments and holds your card details. Amazon Web Services hosts our systems, in Spain and Ireland. Apple and Google, if you use their sign-in. We do not share your information with anyone else except where the law requires it.

Where your data is held

In the European Union. Some suppliers process data outside the UK and EU; where that happens it is covered by the standard contractual protections those transfers require.

How long we keep it

Your account for as long as you have one. Order and payment records for six years after the transaction, which UK law requires of us. Support conversations for two years. Usage figures for the life of the eSIM plus twelve months.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account in the app, under Account. We remove your name, email, date of birth, phone number and sign-in details, and detach any saved cards. Your past orders remain as financial records we are required to keep, but they are no longer connected to you. This cannot be undone.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we use it, or ask for it in a portable form. Email service@databoost.app and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Data Boost is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
